At Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, our mission has always been clear and steadfast: to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to our neighbors in the comfort of their homes. But today, that mission is being tested in ways we have never seen before.

 

The healthcare landscape is shifting rapidly—costs are rising, reimbursements from Medicare and private insurers are shrinking, and families in our community are facing overwhelming financial and personal burdens. For many of our neighbors, the barriers to care are growing, leaving them at risk of going without the critical medical attention they need.

 

As a small, not-for-profit agency, we also face the growing challenge of competing with large hospital systems that increasingly monopolize the home healthcare market. Too often, patients are not offered real choices—referrals are directed only to their own proprietary affiliates—making it harder for community-based agencies like ours to continue serving those who need us most.

 

That is why our 2025 Fall Fund Drive is more urgent than ever. Your generosity is not just helpful—it is essential. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly sustains our ability to:

• Provide care for patients who are underinsured.

• Help families navigate chronic illness and unexpected health crises.

• Ensure that vulnerable neighbors can heal and thrive at home, where they feel most safe and supported.
