Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, Inc. (VNLV) has been named to the 2010 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. This is the fourth time VNLV has earned this national designation.

"I am proud to announce that we have received this designation, and for the fourth time. It is a distinction that this year was given to only 18 homecare agencies in Connecticut," said VNLV Executive Director Priscilla Munro. "I credit our agency's dedicated and highly knowledgeable staff with our ability to continue to rank as one of the HomeCare Elite. Quality and reliability are vital in our industry and we embrace those traits. Like us, the majority of this year's winners in Connecticut are small, local home health agencies committed to the communities they serve."

VNLV is a licensed, non-profit home health agency serving Chester, Deep River, Essex, and 10 other communities in the Connecticut River Valley. The 2010 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. It identifies the top 25 percent of agencies in the country by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement, and financial performance.

"The 2010 HomeCare Elite winners continue to demonstrate a commitment to providing their patients with the best possible care while performing at the highest level," said Amanda Twiss, CEO of OCS HomeCare, which compiles the winning list. "We congratulate Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, Inc. on being one of the top home care agencies in the country."

OCS HomeCare, the leading provider of homecare information, joins with DecisionHealth, publisher of the industry's independent newsletter Home Health Line, in announcing the recipients. "On the fifth anniversary of HomeCare Elite, DecisionHealth congratulates all the winners who have achieved excellent clinical and financial outcomes, especially during times of such drastic regulatory changes," said Marci Heydt, executive editor for DecisionHealth.

VNLV is a full-service home care agency whose services include nursing, public health, diabetes care, cardiac, psychiatric, wound care, maternal child, social work, home health aid, and therapies, as well as geriatric care management, medication management, escorted transportation, homemakers, and companions through its subsidiary Lower Valley Care Advocates.  [BACK TO TOP]
